AWG POLONEZ SCR catalytic converter

The SCR system is a selective catalytic reduction system that is used in passenger vehicles, diesel trucks, as well as in various types of machinery and industry. The purpose of this system is to clean the exhaust gases and reduce environmentally harmful nitrogen oxides. Nitrogen oxides (NOX) consist of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which cause respiratory irritation and are responsible for the formation of acid rain and smog.

Stringent thresholds are therefore set throughout the candle to primarily minimise NOX emissions, which are mainly generated during combustion processes. The process uses ammonia NH3 as a reducing agent. Ammonia is usually formed by the decomposition of an aqueous urea solution or “AdBlue”, which is injected into the exhaust pipe before the SCR catalytic converter. The system is based on a chemical reaction, during which nitrogen oxides are broken down into nitrogen and water vapour, ultimately leading to a reduction in NOX emissions.

Depending on customer requirements, we find the optimum SCR system for the application, also taking into account the specified operating temperature.
